| Despair could ravage you if you turn your head around to look down the path that's lead you here. Because what can you change? You're a vessel now floating down the waterways. You can take your rudder and aim your ship, just don't bother with the things left in your wake. Just sail belly up to the clouds, the rocks scraping your back. To breathe in the air will be the only thing that you have. And your love will be warm nights, With pockets of moonlight spotlighting you as you drift, the actor in this play. You walk across the stage, take a bow, hear the applause. And as the curtain falls, just know you did it all the best that you knew how, And you can hear them cheering now. So let a smile out and show your teeth because you know you lived it well. | | |
| A few days ago, I was flipping channels and stopped on a basketball game for a couple minutes. When I next pushed the channel change button, I was surprised when it only went up by one.

| About two weeks ago, I found out that the student musician ensembles at Disney have been cut. No more street shows, up close crowd entertainment, or turning students into professional performers. I did that job for 4 plus years, and though I won't say I loved every minute, those times are some that I truly appreciate. Wow... I could go on, but there's another thing... Tuesday morning I read that Southwind will be inactive for 2008. When I think of my audition for SW in December 1998, I shudder at the immature, inexperienced, and unenlightened kid's image that arises. People will go on about the family atmosphere there, and how it's a shame their presence will be interrupted, and what they want to do to help it return, so I won't. The last 9 years as a member, staff member, and fan of that corps have helped craft this character. I'm truly grateful for the people who've influenced me and the relationships that have developed and sustained. [Sparing you the long-winded emotional talk. I'm sure I'll unload to whoever asks... ] Ghost.

| I'd been looking forward to this trip since I left there last September. Weather, people, town. I sat in a few parks on breezy days reading books, and walked the blocks. Books I finished: Geometry, Relativity, and the Fourth Dimension - Rucker Unstuck - Yamashita Bed - Tao Lin Freakonomics - Levitt Men Without Women - Hemingway
(two books finished earlier this summer:) The Logia of Yeshua - Davenport Take the Cannoli - Vowell
And the albums I listened to constantly while I was there: Barcelona - Absolutes Radical Face - Ghost Josh Rouse - 1972
I took pictures! Although I'm quite upset that the pictures did not turn out very good. I was messing with the settings on my parent's really nice camera, and I must have messed something up. You'll be able to tell on some of them that the color is washed out and pale. 3/4s of my pictures are like that, some of them really bad.
Here are a few. They are from the day we spent in the Columbia River Gorge:
Latourell Falls
Climbing Beacon Rock
I think this is Multnomah Falls
And Voodoo Donuts
Beacon Rock is on the Washington side of the Columbia River, so that means I've knocked out another state. Only 6 left, and I think it would be a cool goal to knock out all 50 by the time I'm 30.
